What is the EconoLight class?
The PAL EconoLight Class is the new "NO-FRILLS" product of PAL offered in all its regular domestic flights (excluding PAL Express) and selected international destinations. Priced lower than regular Economy Fiesta Class and designed with lesser amenities.  PAL EconoLight is targeted to the budget-conscious segment of the travelling market. No meals will be provided.

Are EconoLight Class and PAL Express the same?
No.  EconoLight is a service class within the regular Philippine Airlines flights. PAL Express is a sub-brand utilizing turbo-propeller aircraft that serves mainly domestic island points and secondary routes from Cebu and Manila. Passengers holding EconoLight tickets shall depart/arrive at Centennial Terminal 2. PAL Express passengers depart/arrive at Terminal 3.

How can I book the PAL EconoLight online?
Economy Fiesta fares are quoted by default . EconoLight fares are available by selecting it from dropdown list for Cabinclass/Farebasis in the search page. If no EconoLight fare is available on your selected date, the system will quote the lowest Economy Fiesta fare instead. 

How can I tell if the fare displayed is EconoLight or the regular Economy Fiesta? 
Economy Fiesta Fare is quoted by default. The EconoLight is booked with "PWEB" fare basis. You may check the booking class by clicking the Fare Rules link on the Itinerary Summary page.

What are the routes covered on the PAL EconoLight class?
Domestic Routes - All PAL domestic routes excluding PAL Express routes

  • Bacolod, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Cotabato, Davao, Dipolog, Dumaguete, General Santos, Iloilo, Kalibo, Laoag, Legazpi, Manila, Ozamiz, Puerto Princesa, Tacloban, Tagbilaran, and Zamboanga

International Routes- All PAL international routes, excluding USA, Canada, Guam, Japan, Korea, Xiamen and Australia

  • Bangkok, Beijing, Ho Chi Minh, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Macau, Manila, Shanghai, Singapore, and Taipei

Who can avail of the PAL EconoLight Class?
All passengers may purchase the EconoLight Fares. However, EconoLight Class seats have limited facilities. PAL recommends passengers requiring special assistance and those with disabilities to purchase the regular Economy Fiesta class.

Can I buy EconoLight fare tickets when I travel with an infant and a child?
Yes. However, infants and children travelling with an adult holding an EconoLight ticket are not entitled to any amenities onboard. Bassinets and milk requests are not allowed. 

How much is the child and infant EconoLight fare?
Child and infant with seats fares are 100% and infant with no seat is 50% of the adult fare respectively. Applicable for International and Domestic flights.

How much baggage am I allowed to carry when I purchase EconoLight?
Each passenger is allowed to check-in 15 kilograms (without further allowance). No additional Free Baggage Allowance will be extended to Mabuhay Miles Million Miler/Premier Elite/Elite and SportsPlus members. Excess baggage will be charged according to existing PAL excess baggage rates.

Can I buy the EconoLight fares in the ticket office?
No. Tickets for EconoLight Class are available for purchase only through PAL’s website on a “book and buy” basis.

Will I earn mileage if I purchase an EconoLight fare ticket?
No. PAL EconoLight Class tickets do not earn miles.

Can I reserve a seat?
No. PAL EconoLight passengers may not avail of the Advance Seat Request.

Can I buy food onboard? 
No.  Food is not sold onboard.  You may wish to buy food inside the airport terminal before taking the flight.
