PAL , PH Govt assist stranded ZAM-MNL passengers

Philippine Airlines is currently working with government to assist stranded passengers of PAL and PAL Express in Zamboanga City.

DILG Secretary Mar Roxas earlier relayed to PAL government’s offer to help passengers affected by the current security situation in the city.

Starting September 13, 2013 (Friday), C-130 planes of the Philippine Military will ferry the affected passengers from Zamboanga to Mactan, Cebu International Airport. From Cebu, they will be accommodated on regular PAL flights flying the Cebu – Manila route.

Passengers of the government ferry flights will be provided food and drinks at the Mactan International Airport’s pre-departure area.

Since the start of the stand-off between government and MNLF forces in the city, at least 40 flights have been cancelled, affecting close to 3,000 passengers.
