PAL AIRLIFTS FOOD RELIEF FOR FLOOD VICTIMS. Fabie Espino (second from left), branch manager of Philippine Airlines’ (PAL) station in Cotabato City supervises the loading in tranches of about 40 metric tons Plumpy’Doz – ready-to-eat fortified food specially formulated for malnourished children – donated by the United Nations World Food Programme for flood victims in Metro Manila and nearby Luzon provinces. The flag carrier airlifted the food items free of charge from Cotabato City through the PAL Humanitarian Cargo Grant. The Department of Social Welfare and Development will distribute the relief goods. Apart from these items, PAL also carried, at no cost, bananas donated by private entities and NGOs in Cagayan de Oro and Davao cities as well as more than two tons of tuna from Gensan and Saranggani.
