Pets

Varied rules and regulations on carriage of animals as baggage may apply for specific countries depending on restrictions imposed by local Government Authorities.

Pets such as dogs, cats and birds, if and when they are acceptable for carriage as baggage should :

  • Be placed in a secure and leak-proof container
  • Have valid vaccination certificates and exit and/or entry permits
  • Be accompanied by passengers at least 12 years old

Pets accepted as baggage are assessed a fee equivalent to actual gross weight multiplied by the prevailing excess baggage rate.

An inquiry with our reservations office must be made at least 48 hours before scheduled flight about acceptance of pets as baggage from specific airport of origin.

Note: For pets travelling to Japan as check in or cargo, Animal Bureau Quarantine of Japan must be notified at least forty (40) days prior to the arrival of the pet.

Seeing Eye Dogs

Seeing eye dogs that will lead the blind or assist the deaf are allowed in the cabin if:

  • it is muzzled and harnessed

  • it will not occupy a seat

  • flight time is less than four hours

  • flight is open

Sports Equipment

An applicable excess baggage charge will be collected from passengers carrying any of the following in excess of the normal free baggage allowance:

  • Golf equipment contained in one golf bag and one pair of golf shoes
  • Snow skiing equipment consisting of one pair of skis, one pair of ski poles and one pair of boots
  • Scuba diving equipment consisting of one empty scuba tank, one regulator, one harness, one pressure gauge, one mask, two twins, one snorkel, one knife, one speargun, one safety vest and one weight belt

For passengers carrying the following sports equipment, an applicable excess baggage charge will automatically be collected:

  • Surfboarding equipment

An applicable charge will be collected for oversized baggage. Please call our reservations or sales office for more information and assistance.

In compliance with Republic Act No. 9337, an act amending the National Internal Revenue Code, a 12% VAT is added to the total amount on all transactions involving purely domestic services only.

SEEING EYEDOGS
Dogs to assist the deaf and lead the blind may be carried on board.

Service animals are the only animals allowed inside the cabin.
SPORTS PLUS

SportsPlus allows you to carry an additional twenty (20) kilos of sports equipment each time you take a Philippine Airlines flight (Except PAL Express and Econolight ticket holders).
