Snow Skiing Equipment

Piece system
A pair of skis, a pair of ski poles and/or a pair of boots is considered as one (01) set.
  1. In excess of the Free Baggage Allowance (FBA), the first set of ski equipment will be charged 25% of the excess baggage rate. 
  2. This charge is available for the carriage of only one (01) set per passenger.
  3. For additional snow skiing equipment, the normal excess baggage charge shall apply.         
Weight system
A pair of skis, a pair of ski poles and/or a pair of boots is considered as one (01) set.In excess of the Free Baggage Allowance (FBA), ski equipment shall be assessed equal to 3kgs. of the excess baggage charge. 

If it is part of the FBA, any excess weight shall be assessed the special charge of 3kgs. or the normal excess baggage charge, whichever is lower.

Golf Equipment

Piece system
Golf equipment which is contained in one golf bag and one pair of golf shoes is considered as one (01) set.
  1. If it is within the Free Baggage Allowance (FBA), there’s no charge.
  2. In excess of the FBA, the first set of golf equipment shall be charged 50% of the excess baggage rate.
For additional sets of golf equipment, the normal excess baggage rate shall apply. This charge is available for the carriage of only one (01) golf bag per passenger. 

Weight system
Golf equipment which is contained in one golf bag and one pair of golf shoes is considered as one (01) set.
  1. Golf equipment weighing 15kg or less:   In excess of the Free Baggage Allowance (FBA), any excess weight shall be assessed the special charge of 6kg or the normal baggage charge, whichever is lower.
  2. Golf equipment weighing in excess of 15kg: In excess of the FBA, the normal excess baggage charge shall apply.

Surfboards

Piece system
Surfboards are not included in the free baggage allowance, and thus shall be considered as automatic excess baggage.

Charges for the carriage of surfboards for piece system shall be as follows: 

  1. One (1) surfboard not exceeding 109 in. (277 cm) will be assessed as one excess baggage charge.
  2. One surfboard exceeding 109 in.  (277 cm) will be assessed 200% of the applicable excess baggage charge.
  3. Additional surfboards will be assessed the applicable excess baggage charge based on current rules on excess baggage charges.  
Weight system
  1. Automatic excess baggage (except for travel between Australia and Philippines): 
    (i) One surfboard, the sum of the three dimensions not exceeding 62 in. (158 cm) will be charged at 50% of the applicable excess baggage rate.
    (ii) One surfboard exceeding 62 in (158 cm) will be charged at 100% of the applicable excess baggage rate. Additional surfboards will be charged at 100% of the applicable excess baggage rate.
  2. For travel between Australia and Philippines, surfboards/skis shall only be accepted if enclosed in a surfboard bag that must not exceed 32 kg in weight and 277 cm in length. Board/skis can be included in the free baggage allowance. The number of surfboards to be part of the FBA can be more than one, but must not exceed 32 kilograms. When the combined weight of the said items exceeds the free baggage allowance, normal excess baggage rates shall apply. 
The following sports equipment are included in the Free Baggage Allowance (FBA) and are not considered as automatic excess:

  • Water skiing equipment
  • Scuba diving equipment
  • Wakeboarding equipment
  • Fishing equipment
  • Bowling balls
  • Sportfishing equipment
  • Cycling equipment
  • Tennis racquets
  • Badminton racquets
Note:
Piece system applies to Transpacific flights such as Manila to/from Guam, Honolulu, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Vancouver.
Weight system applies to Regional and Domestic flights.
