Australia and New Zealand Passenger Requirements

15 Mar 2020

Travel Advisory #33
PHL Local Time: March 16, 2020

As mandated by their respective health authorities, AUSTRALIA and NEW ZEALAND are requiring all travelers to observe precautionary self-quarantine for 14 days upon arrival in Australia and/or New Zealand. This applies to ALL passengers of all nationalities, including citizens and permanent residents of Australians and New Zealanders, effective immediately.

Upon arrival in Australia, passengers are required to complete a self-isolation period (self-quarantine) for up to 14 days in Australia (even if their planned trip is less than 14 days), and may be required to complete a health fact sheet confirming that they understand the requirement and their responsibilities.  Please expect additional screening procedures at the airport upon arrival.

Passengers who are transiting through Australia onward to an international destination must remain at the airport until their planned onward flight, or (if they exit the airport) must self-isolate at their accommodation for the full duration of their planned transit stay, until they depart.

Passengers with existing domestic transfer bookings (connecting flights to other Australian destinations beyond the gateway airport) or arrangements may complete their domestic transfer and commence their precautionary self-isolation period of up to 14 days at their final destination.

All passengers of all nationalities traveling to New Zealand must self-isolate (self-quarantine) for 14 days upon arrival.

There will also be an enhanced health screening at the border (airport immigrations) on arrival.

This ruling is in effect until March 31, 2020, but may be extended by the NZ authorities beyond this date if they see fit.

We are posting this information to aid our passengers.  However, please note that these requirements and regulations are subject to change at any time by the respective government authorities.

Please always check directly with government websites and official information sources for the latest updates.

PAL continues to coordinate closely with the government authorities in the interest of the health and safety of all our passengers.

Thank you for your understanding and kind cooperation.
