REMINDER – HONG KONG TRAVEL

30 Sep 2020

Advisory No. 116

September 30, 2020

To our Hong Kong-bound passengers:

Please check out the strict requirements now in place for any travel to Hong Kong:  https://www.coronavirus.gov.hk/eng/high-risk-places.html

Here are some reminders to help you comply with these rules and avoid inconvenience:

1.  Ensure that you have proof of confirmed hotel bookings for 14 days/14 nights at a hotel in Hong Kong, starting on the day of arrival. Note that these are 14 full room nights (a 13-night/14-day stay will NOT comply with the requirement).

2.  All travelers, including those who have a home or residential address in Hong Kong, MUST undergo quarantine at a hotel.

3.  You must have a NEGATIVE NUCLEIC ACID TEST RESULT ---  such as a result from an RT-PCR (swab) test, NOT an antigen test or rapid/antibody test.  The result should not show even small traces of the coronavirus that causes COVID-19.

4.  The required test results must have been issued by an accredited laboratory or healthcare institution, and must have been taken within 72 hours of the scheduled time of departure of your flight to Hong Kong. The name in the certificate, written in English or Chinese, must be the EXACT NAME as shown in the passport.

5.   You must bring proof, issued by an independent third party such as the concerned government authority, that the laboratory of healthcare institution is ISO 15189 accredited or is recognized/approved by the government. (A letter from the laboratory itself stating that it is accredited will NOT BE ACCEPTED.) Documents in paper or electronic format are acceptable, but it is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to bring a printed copy, to avoid any technical problems when opening the files on your mobile device.
