COVID-19 Health Requirements

  • Effective January 13, 2021, the negative nucleic acid test validity period for travelers coming from foreign countries and arriving in Macau by air will be reduced from seven days after the test to 72 hours.
  • Must hold a nucleic acid certificate with negative COVID-19 infection issued within 72 hours prior to the flight’s departure time.
  • Macao Residents passengers scheduled to depart from Manila on January 15, must hold a Nucleic Acid certificate test with negative Covid-19 infection issued within 72 Hours prior to scheduled flight departure.
  • The authorities are imposing a new health self-management period which, in effect increases to 28 days the period in which a person will be under medical surveillance after returning to Macau. According to the new rules, any person who enters Macau and undergoes a 14-day medical observation, in a designated facility, will have to an additional 14-day self-management of health period.
  • For those subjected to a 21-days medical observation, an additional 7-days self-management period will be required.
  • Self-management recommendations include to stay in one’s own home or room and avoid going out, except work or school and decrease contact with family members and other people.
  • During the health self-management period, the Health Code will be issued in Yellow and personal hygiene measures must be strictly respected.
  • Infractions to the self-management period may be subject to the mandatory isolation measure, in addition to assuming, if any, possible criminal liability according to the law.
  • Must be registered to https://app.ssm.gov.mo/healthPHD/ to receive their respective  Health Code, this has to be presented upon arrival. 
  • Arriving passengers (MACAU RESIDENTS ONLY) will have their body temperature checked before entering Macau International Airport premises.

  • Ensure that at the moment of check-in for any flight to Macau, passengers shall have in their possession a certificate with a negative result of a valid nucleic acid test and Macau health code to be presented to the airlines/ground handling staff. They may reject any passenger not complying with these requirements.
  • In order to reduce the waiting time when entering Macau, passengers are requested to take a screenshot of the Macau health code before boarding and show it to Macau CDC staff for verification before going through immigration formalities.
  • Reminders - Conditions for minor passengers staying in quarantine hotels in Macau:
    • Passengers must state clearly the type of passport/travel document for both guardian and the child;
    • If Macau ID number is not available, they should provide other identification;
    • Fill-in all dates with western calendar;
    • Passenger must select one of the check boxes for the conditions for minors to stay in a quarantine hotel;
    • A clear (readable) image of the ID is required

                 Incorrect information or unclear images will delay the process.

  • Passengers must fill-out the Declaration and Investigation forms prior to arrival in Macau as required by the Macau Health Bureau. To save time, passengers are encouraged to download and print (must be in A4 paper) the document prior to their flight.
