As we fly you to your destination, we're adding more safety measures to protect you. In line with the highest standards, here is what you can expect to ensure that you enjoy a healthy, safe, and clean environment on your next PAL flight.

This list may be updated regularly. It is the passenger’s responsibility to find out and to comply with all travel requirements that apply for his or her route or destination country.

Before the Flight

  1. Know your eligibility and traveler type, secure the required travel and health documents, and follow the guidelines for travel of your origin and destination through the following:

  2. Wear a face mask and face shield at all times. Passengers without these facial coverings will be denied boarding. We allow surgical, ear loop, or do-it yourself masks, and other protective shielding except for certain flights. Flights to or from Singapore, Xiamen, Macau or Honolulu allow ONLY surgical masks. For flights to or from Auckland, ONLY medical grade masks such as surgical masks or N95 respirators are allowed.

  3. Bring your own pen and hand sanitizer as an added safety precaution. You may bring hand sanitizers with maximum content of 70% alcohol, up to 10 pcs of 100mL as part of your carry-on baggage. 

  4. Download the Traze App on your mobile device. As mandated by the Philippine Department of Transportation, all passengers must have the Traze app to generate and scan their QR code when entering in, boarding from, or upon arriving in all Philippine airports. Click here to know more about Traze.

  1. Ensure that your carry-on bag is within the required specifications: Length of 22 inches / 56cm, Width of 14 inches / 36cm, Height of 9 inches / 23 cm, and Weight of 15 lbs / 7 kilos. On top of the carry-on bag, only two of the following items may be carried inside the cabin: Laptop Computer, Small Bag, Overcoat / Wrap / Blanket, Reasonable amount of reading material/s, Small Camera or Binoculars, Infant Case, Infant Food, and Sealed Duty-Free Bag. For PWDs, the previous items shall be in addition to assistive devices.

  2. Check in online. To ensure ample time for security checks, arrive early at the airport no later than 4 hours prior to departure from Manila for International flights and 3 hours prior to departure from Manila for Domestic flights and other airports.

Point of Booking

All ticket offices have thermal scanning, managed social distancing, and transparent counter barriers. Our service personnel are equipped with face masks and gloves. We are implementing a no-mask-no-entry policy in our ticket offices.

At the Airport

We enforce social distancing while passengers are waiting, on queue, or inside PAL shuttle buses. Passengers can expect thermal scans at entry points, distribution of locator forms that they would need to fill out, sanitizers available at designated areas, and other security checks.

We are implementing contactless boarding procedures in all Philippine domestic flights, and international flights from Manila to Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, Taipei, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, and the Middle East.

Our boarding gate staff shall conduct visual-only inspection of documents. Passengers shall be instructed to self-tear and self-scan their boarding passes at the boarding gate. 

Our airport staff are equipped with face masks and face shields. Passengers must also wear their face masks and face shields all the time. 

Mabuhay Lounge
Starting July 25, 2021, the International Mabuhay Lounge at Terminal 2 will re-open at a reduced capacity in compliance to IATF restrictions. We will be offering a New Normal Lounge experience for our passengers through an à la carte style service.

All other Domestic and International Mabuhay Lounges are temporarily unavailable due to strict health and safety protocols. Philippine Airlines will keep passengers updated on any development regarding lounge services. 

Inside the Aircraft
The entire fleet of PAL and PAL Express aircraft continuously undergo rigorous cabin cleaning and disinfection. All contact surfaces are wiped down using stronger cleaning agents, and the aircraft’s HEPA filters are maintained regularly.

During the Flight
Onboard Service: Our cabin crew are wearing full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). They practice a simplified inflight service approach that minimizes frequent contact.
Meals: We continuously follow strict Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) procedures when preparing inflight meals. Meals and snacks are served in sanitized containers or secured packaging.
Seating: Seat Distancing is observed depending on space availability. When the flights are not full, we continue to allocate seat assignments, upon check-in at the airport, in a way that maximizes personal distance between our passengers. 

If you are booked on Business Class, you can enjoy ultimate comfort and exclusivity. Revel in our plush seats, exclusive cabin, and a dedicated lavatory for your service class.

PAL Testing Facilities

You can arrange for your RT-PCR or Antigen test at PAL’s own testing centers in partnership with Detoxicare Diagnostics Molecular Laboratory which is accredited by the Philippine Department of Health. The Covid-19 testing centers are located at the PAL Learning Center (PLC), Padre Faura, Manila and PAL Gate 3, Andrews Avenue, Pasay City.  

Enjoy the lowest RT-PCR test rate at PHP 2,599 (previously at PHP 3,300) with results released in 24 hours. Antigen tests cost PHP 700 with results released in 30 minutes.

At PAL Learning Center (PLC), RT-PCR and Antigen testing is available via drive-thru or walk-in and is open daily (Monday-Sunday, including holidays) from 8AM to 8PM.

At PAL Gate 3, RT-PCR and Antigen testing is available via walk-in or in-car service and is open to serve you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

PAL Laboratory and Testing Facility Partners

Philippine Airlines has partnered with accredited laboratory and testing facilities to provide PAL passengers exclusive and discounted testing fees and/or quicker release of results.

To avail, contact and book an appointment with our testing partner, proceed to the testing facility and present your ID, PAL Ticket, payment confirmation (if prepaid) and QR Code indicating completion of registration via the PAL Passenger Profile and Health Declaration. You will also be asked to fill out a Health Assessment Checklist in compliance with Department of Health requirements on entering public places. Pay and undergo the test and wait for your electronic results sent via email or accessible through the testing partner’s portal.
