NOTICE FOR USA/CANADA FLIGHTS (June 10 to 12)

08 6 2020

ADVISORY #67
PHL Time: 08June 2020

PR103, PR105, PR127 and PR117 DEPARTING on JUNE 10, 11 & 12

PR102, PR104, PR126 and PR116 DEPARTING on JUNE 10 & 11

For FLIGHTS departing from USA & CANADA June 10, 11 and 12:

We have been advised that the aviation authorities are unable to give PAL an allocation for international arrival slots at Manila airport (NAIA/ MNL) on June 12 and 13 because of unavoidable constraints in Manila's quarantine processing capacity on those days.

As a result, the following flights departing from the United States mainland and Canada will not be able to land in Manila on those days:

  •    PR103 departing Los Angeles on June 10 (slated to arrive  on June 12)
  •    PR103 departing Los Angeles on June 11 (slated to arrive on June 13)
  •    PR105 departing San Francisco on June 10 (slated to arrive on June 12)
  •    PR127 departing New York JFK on June 12 (slated to arrive on June 13)
  •    PR117 departing Vancouver on June 10 (slated to arrive on June 12)

ALTERNATIVE ARRANGEMENTS via CEBU:

PAL is presently in discussions with the Cebu airport and local government authorities to arrange for these flights to land in Mactan Cebu International Airport, instead of at the NAIA.

If we are authorized to land in Cebu on June 12 and 13, our passengers on PR103, PR105, PR127 and PR117 will undergo the required COVID testing in Cebu rather than in Manila, and quarantine at a Cebu hotel accredited by the Department of Health until they receive a negative test result (usually within 24 to 48 hours of the test).  Once a negative test result is confirmed, PAL will fly them from Cebu to Manila free of charge. (Please note that the cost for the COVID tests and the quarantine hotel will be borne by the traveler, whether the tests and quarantine take place in Cebu or Manila.)

We will make the appropriate announcement once the Cebu landing arrangements are confirmed.  Otherwise, we will have no choice but to cancel these flights.

For FLIGHTS FROM MANILA TO USA & CANADA on June 10 & 11:

If we are unable to confirm the above arrangements, we may also have to cancel the originating flights departing from Manila, namely:  PR102 (to Los Angeles) on June 10 and 11;  PR104 (to San Francisco) on June 10; PR126 (to New York JFK) on June 11; and PR116 (to Vancouver) on June 10.   If so, we will make the appropriate announcements.

IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS

We seek the kind understanding of our passengers for these latest developments beyond our control.  Please note that we may need to make further changes to our flight schedules, including cancellations or other adjustments, based on continually evolving controls, restrictions and entry requirements set by the concerned government authorities, who are focused primarily on promoting and protecting public health during these critical times.
