Advisory No. 97

Updated as of July 27, 2020

We wish to remind our domestic and international passengers to check the latest travel requirements applicable to your destination city/country, as well as at your point of origin, as you prepare for your travel.

Travel requirements change from time to time. Here are some new regulations that took effect recently:

TRAVEL TO DAVAO - (Domestic Travel)

Passengers traveling to Davao City are recommended to submit, prior to check in, a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test result issued within 72 hours from date of departure. This is to avoid any inconvenience of having to undergo the required COVID test upon arrival at Davao airport, and waiting for the test result at the airport. (Passengers will not be allowed to leave the airport holding area until the results are released, which may usually take from 8 to 12 hours.) Children under the age of 12 are exempted from the requirement provided that the accompanying adult presents a negative RT-PCR result.

TRAVEL TO CLARK - (Domestic Travel)

Clark-bound domestic passengers who plan to enter Angeles City must present negative COVID-19 test result (RT-PCR test) at the Angeles City boundary checkpoint, to comply with requirements of the city authorities.

TRAVEL TO ZAMBOANGA - (Domestic Travel)

Passengers traveling to Zamboanga are required to undergo a COVID-19 RT-PCR test upon arrival in Zamboanga, and to quarantine for 14 days after arrival, to comply with requirements of  local authorities.  (Locally stranded individuals are now allowed by local authorities to board Zamboanga-bound flights regardless of their final destination.)

TRAVEL TO DUBAI - (International flights from the Philippines)

The Dubai authorities now require travelers to obtain a COVID-19 negative certificate (PCR test results) no more than 96 hours before departure. Presenting the COVID negative certificate is a pre-requisite for boarding a flight bound for Dubai. This new requirement is already in effect.

-       A letter certificate in English or Chinese, certifying that the laboratory is authorized by the government to perform the test.

Please note that the cost for the COVID tests and the quarantine hotel will be borne by the traveler (except that, for Overseas Filipino Workers - OFWs, the government will shoulder the cost of tests and accommodation).

Outbound Travel from the Philippines - (International flights bound for other countries)

Only the following are allowed to exit from the Philippines at present:

- Foreign Nationals

- Overseas Filipino Workers

For international travelers: Please check the government website of your destination country, as well as your country of departure, for the latest updates. These governmental regulations may have an impact on the status of your flight or your acceptance for boarding.

For domestic travelers: Please check with the local government offices of both your origin and final destination points for travel requirements, such as mandated documents or health certifications. These requirements differ from province to province, and are revised constantly in line with the anti-COVID-19 arrangements of each locality.
